Frequently Asked Questions:
How do you source the real skulls you cast from?
-All our original real skulls come from animals who have either been found deceased ( such as road casualtiies), died of natural causes(such as illness/old age), or from inidviduals selling on part of their private collections. We trace the history of the skull as far as possible and do not condone the killing of any animal simply for the sake of attaining a skull.
Do you/will you have xyz skull available either now or in the future?
-all skull replicas we currently have available are listed in our online shop. We are always on the lookout for new skulls to add to our collection, so if you'd like to let us know what skull(s) you are interested in we can make a note of interest expressed. We then prioritise skull acquisition(pertaining availability) according to this.
Can you cast a skull I have in my collection?
-we are more than happy to cast customer supplied skulls. If you'd like to get in touch with us via the "Contact Us" page we can discuss all aspects this would involve in relation to your specific skull.
Can you modify one of your skulls/make an ooak/cast something I provide?
-we are more than happy to address custom order requests, from little changes, for example making a skull suitable to be worn with a particular necklace, to helping you realise an idea/concept you think we could help with. We can also provide a personal casting service for items other than skulls. Just get in touch via the "Contact Us" page to discuss what you have in mind.
What material are your skull replicas made from?
-all our skull replicas are solid cast from polyurethane plastic resin.
How do you achieve the colour finishes on your coloured skulls?
-all our coloured skull replicas have a paint finish applied to them as a last stage. This paint is plastic compatible.
Can the polyurethane resin you use for your replicas be drilled/sanded?
-yes, our replicas can be drilled and sanded. If there is a certain amount of sculpting you require to be done to our skulls to make them more suitable for your application, simply get in touch with us and we can do this for you.
If for some reason you would like to undertake this process yourself(because you have past experience in this field) we advise wearing a facemask and eye protection, as well as undertaking the drilling/sanding in a well ventilated area. Both the drilling and sanding can produce a lot of dust which isn't particularly pleasant or great for you so we always recommend contacting us and getting us to do this for you if at all possible.
Can I use your skull replicas in my aquarium?
-our resin has not been warranted as safe to use in aquariums, so sadly not.
Do you ship internationally?
-yes we do. We ship worldwide and shipping is automatically calculated during checkout. For international customers there are two shipping options, one being "Standard Airmail" the other "International Tracked and Signed". For more details check out our "Shipping and Returns" page.
